Dietary supplements: Storage counts

By Mayo Clinic staff

If you decide to take vitamin or mineral supplements, remember that storage counts. Keep your supplements in a cool, dry place. Avoid hot, humid storage locations, such as in the bathroom. Also keep an eye on expiration dates. Dietary supplements can lose potency over time, especially in hot and humid environments. If a supplement doesn't have an expiration date, don't buy it. If your supplements have expired, discard them.
