AUDIO: Gay men able to donate blood

Gay men will be able to give blood after a lifetime ban was lifted on Monday but men who have had sex with another man in the past 12 months will still not be eligible.
The original restrictions were put in place in the UK in the 1980s as a response to the spread of Aids and HIV.
Professor Deidre Kelly, the chair of the Blood Donor Selection Panel that challenged the lifetime ban and John, a bisexual man from Darlington spoke to Radio 5 live's Victoria
